They think it's all over

Well it is it for Scotland sadly. But as we publish, England have just made it through to the it finally coming home? But what’s been piquing our interest in the ‘Euro-sphere’ of brands over recent weeks?

First off, congrats to the BBC for having an ‘actual’ studio backing on to a spectacular view of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. I recall them doing this for the World Cup in 2014, which shows admirable consistency and saves us all having to put up with Gary, Alan and Micah in a fully ‘virtual' studio for 4 weeks.

It seems like only a few weeks ago that Jeremy Allen White was causing a stir by clambering around the roof tops of New York city in nothing more than a pair of Calvin Klein underpants. Now it’s the turn of new England poster boy Jude Bellingham to strip down and juggle a ball in a pair of SKIMS, the clothing brand founded by Kim Kardashian. Pretty straightforward idea and not as surreal as the CK ad - there’s no doubt he’s played a blinder in terms of column inches for these pants. And then he followed it up with that overhead kick against Slovenia. Juuuudddde...

Heineken are generally at the forefront of innovative ideas when it comes to sport, and I love their unveiling of the world’s first beer insurance to protect football fans against spillages, including the limited edition Pint-cho, a lightweight beer resistant poncho developed with Amsterdam designer Rainkiss. Could be a lot of claims on that insurance policy over the coming weeks!

As for all the other plethora of Euros activity, this Creative Salon article provides a good, comprehensive round up - including Sir Geoff Hurst urging England to bring it home, hopefully not by indulging in too many cans of Budweiser. Remember the dentist chair?

Inspirational Euros Quote:

“Self belief. I can do it. I can do it. I can do it, I can do it, I can really move from my head right down to my blue suede shoes. Isn't it? Rubettes, 1973? Marvellous.” Ron Manager
